Airsoft guns can differ in price loads. You can get a simple plastic spring gun for around 15 dollars or a co2 powered metal gun for over $1000. It all depends on how much you want to spend. You don't want to spend loads of money on a gun you don't need to. For example, do you really need the jewel encrusted barrel on that Airsoft Desert Eagle? Of course no! Likewise you don't want to spend the $15 on a gun that falls apart in your hands as soon as you try and fire it. It's all about finding a balance.

You can always do your research by reading reviews online, seeing which guns get the best score on sites like Amazon, or maybe ask a friend who knows more that you what a good gun is. It all depends on your level really. If you have the experience you are going to know what you want. This advice is more for beginners really.

A good (if slightly old fashioned) way of searching for a good deal is looking in your local newspaper for people selling Airsoft guns. This way you can at least go and try it out for yourself to see if you like it. Also a substantial discount should be offered too. If you don't find anything in the newspaper maybe you should check out craigslist or something similar. The best option of course is to buy an old gun off a friend who doesn't need it any more.

The type of gun also depends on the sort of deal you're going to find. Airsoft sniper rifles tend to be more expensive (because of the scope) with pistols the least expensive because of their simple design. But the propulsion method of the Airsoft guns also effects cost. Guns powered by springs are the least expensive, usually followed by electric guns, and lastly co2 guns are the most expensive.
